Keeping the chain sharp is vital because the dull chain increases the trim bar that starts up after the chainsaw bar is stuck in the wood. This phenomenon is commonly referred to as kickback and is one of the main causes of chainsaw damage. Increased fuel usage and unnecessary damage are two more reasons to prevent a dull chain break. Check out our support videos to learn how to sharpen your chain with a file or a power grinder. Two main approaches can be used with a round chainsaw file or an electronic chainsaw grinder to sharpen a chain saw by hand SAWVERGE.COM A third technique, square filing, is only used to cut large trees in a square row.
